With a long career, this Venezuelan pop music band has a great legacy. Vocal Song has been characterized by their fresh and flavorful themes. But now they want to change the world with something more than their music… That is why they had the initiative to help the kids of their country through crowdfunding.

Vocal Song and their campaign

This musical group comes from a country that is going through one of its biggest crises in history. It is known that Venezuela has the highest inflation rate in the world. But another problem as big is health. After a survey conducted by UNICEF it was learned that 11,466 Venezuelan children, no older than one year, died of malnutrition.

Unfortunately, that number is only the tip of the iceberg. The maternal mortality rate also rose during that year. And life expectancy in Venezuela was reduced greatly. Faced with this problem, Vocal Song noticed the Pediatric Specialties Hospital of Maracaibo. A medical center designed to treat the aforementioned problems.

What solution does the band propose?

Now that we know what the problem is, Vocal Song decides to take action. Their plan lies in the creation of a foundation called “Déjennos Vivir”, which is intended to help children of the Pediatric Specialties Hospital of Maracaibo. How? By raising funds so they can acquire the expensive medical supplies in Venezuela.

As mentioned before, this country is going through a hyperinflation that has put it in a serious economic situation. The International Monetary Fund (IMF) indicated that for this year 2018, hyperinflation is expected to reach 18,000%.

What is that hospital and where does it come from?

The aforementioned medical institution, also called the Hospital Foundation of Pediatric Specialties (FHEP), has been working for more than 20 years. It’s one of the most recognized pediatric hospitals in the state of Zulia, in Venezuela. It has attended 2,012,823 appointments by external consultation and continues to be very well attended nowadays.

This hospital subsists thanks to the contributions of various public and private institutions. Although nowadays it has become more difficult to obtain economic resources to buy supplies and medical equipment. The FHEP constantly creates programs and campaigns for the benefit of their patients and the local community.

How do they plan to achieve the goal of the campaign?

Through the Déjennos Vivir Foundation, Vocal Song has for now the objective of raising money to buy medical supplies. It also aims to help children “through music”. Particularly those who are homeless, suffer from malnutrition or suffer from serious diseases.

They decided to compose and produce a musical theme that raises awareness about the difficult situation that these children of Venezuela are living. From this song came the next music video of the band, which was also made to spread that same message. It was directed by César Querales and uploaded to YouTube on December 27, 2017.

Vocal Song’s crowdfunding campaign is on our platform. The band seeks to raise a sum of $15,000 to finance the acquisition of medical supplies for the FHEP. Therefore they have focused all their dedication to show this harsh reality in order to make a call to reflection.
